Dhaka, Sep 02 (V7N) – BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has said that all major reforms in Bangladesh were carried out by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
He made the remarks on Monday (September 1) night after receiving greetings from the National Citizen Party (NCP) at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka, marking BNP’s 47th founding anniversary.
Salahuddin emphasized the importance of maintaining constructive political engagement despite differences. “There will always be differences among political parties. Even then, aesthetic discussions must continue. This political culture will take the country a long way forward,” he said.
Calling for national unity against fascism, the senior BNP leader stressed that it is possible to eradicate the country’s undemocratic subculture by introducing a stronger democratic culture.
On behalf of the NCP, Northern Region Chief Organizer Sarjis Alam accused former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of destroying democracy and political culture. “It is not possible to build a new Bangladesh without aesthetic relations between political parties,” he added.
Meanwhile, NCP leader Samantha Sharmin criticized recent judicial interventions regarding the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and Hall Parliament elections. She said, “No party will accept using the Supreme Court to influence politics.”
