Dhaka, Sep 04 (V7N) – BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that some political figures are behaving like Sheikh Hasina by declaring they will not participate in elections unless their demands are met. He termed such statements “undemocratic.”

Speaking at a discussion at the National Press Club on Thursday afternoon, the BNP leader argued that if every party insisted on a referendum over its own demands, “there would be no more elections in this country.”

He further emphasized that there is no division among those who truly believe in democracy. Amir Khasru also stressed the need for reforms aligned with the people’s mandate, not with narrow partisan interests.
