Dhaka, Sep 06 (V7N) – The People’s Rights Council has held the Home Affairs Advisor responsible for the failure to prevent the attack on Nurul Haque Nur and demanded his resignation. The party also warned of launching tougher programs, including a siege of the secretariat, if the demand is ignored.

The announcement came from Rashed Khan, General Secretary of the People’s Rights Council, while addressing a rally in Dhaka on Friday.

Rashed Khan said, “Action must be taken against members of various forces involved in the attack on Nurul Haque Nur. Those who attacked him are allies of the Awami League. If no action is taken, no one will be able to avoid responsibility. We welcome the formation of a probe committee, but justice must be ensured.”

BNP Joint Secretary General Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohel added that Sheikh Hasina is now a “closed chapter” in Bangladesh’s politics and warned that her ally, the Jatiya Party, must also face justice. “The entire nation has seen who carried out the attack. If justice is delayed, all opposition parties will unite in movement,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jamaat leader Shafiqul Islam Masud questioned the government’s credibility, saying, “Those who failed to ensure Nurul Haque Nur’s security—how will they ensure security during the elections?”
