Dhaka, Oct 17 (V7N) — BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain has said that whether or not to sign the July Charter is entirely up to the individual decision of each political party.

He made the remarks on Friday morning (October 17) while paying tribute at the tomb of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, during a program organized by the newly formed convening committee of the Diploma Medical Association of Bangladesh (DMAB).

Dr. Zahid Hossain stated that any doubt or hesitation regarding the sacrifice and participation of the people during the movement could lead to an existential crisis for Bangladesh in the eyes of the world.

“When the state itself has taken the responsibility of signing and implementing the July Charter, there should be no disagreement over it. Everyone should take part,” he said.

He further warned that refusing to sign the Charter might create fear and uncertainty among the general public.
