Dhaka, Oct 25 (V7N) — BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that questionable officials must be removed from the interim government if the country is to hold a credible national election. He spoke at a discussion at the National Press Club on Saturday afternoon.

Amir Khasru urged the interim administration to assume the role of a true caretaker government, arguing that silence and inaction will not resolve the country’s electoral credibility problems. “If questionable people remain in the interim government, the election will be questionable,” he warned.

He also criticized recent changes to the Representation of the People Order (RPO), saying amendments should not be enacted without broad discussion. Amir Khasru called for clear, decisive steps to ensure an impartial election environment.

On the July Charter, he asserted that BNP will work to implement its provisions, saying the party is committed to making the charter a reality regardless of current legal debates over its basis.
