Rajshahi, Nov 01 (V7N)- BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has alleged that the consensus commission is attempting to impose its opinion on the public and politicians, and is not functioning as intended.
He made the remarks while speaking at the Divisional Business Conference held at the Rajshahi Zilla Parishad Auditorium on Saturday afternoon. Amir Khasru also claimed that the commission is trying to postpone the national elections by enforcing its decisions.
On development and governance, he said, “If BNP comes to power, it will create 1 crore jobs within 18 months. Development will be ensured through people’s participation, not through mega projects.”
He further criticized previous governments, saying that those who received political patronage engaged in business but ended up looting more than developing the country.
