Dhaka, Nov 04 (V7N)- Even if the People’s Rights Council (Gono Odhikar Parishad) forms an alliance in the upcoming national elections, it will contest using its own party symbol, the ‘Truck’, party president Nurul Haque Noor has said.
He made the statement in a Facebook post on Tuesday (November 4).
Noor wrote that the People’s Rights Council has not yet made a final decision regarding joining any electoral alliance. However, he said that even if the party decides to form an alliance in the future for political stability and greater national interest, its candidates will contest the polls under the ‘Truck’ symbol.
It may be noted that BNP released its initial list of 237 candidates on Monday evening, ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election. The party has left 63 constituencies vacant, including the one held by Nurul Haque Noor, indicating potential room for alliance negotiations.
