Dhaka, Nov 15 (V7N) — BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has raised concerns over the upcoming national referendum, questioning how citizens can express disagreement with any of the four proposed questions. He called on the government to provide clarity.

Rizvi made the remarks while attending a financial assistance program for ailing radio artist Afroza Nizami on behalf of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in Shyamoli, Dhaka, on Saturday.

He said, “If huge sums of money are spent without ensuring understanding, the process will not be sustainable. If 90 percent of the people do not know the purpose of the referendum, confusion will persist.”

Rizvi urged that the referendum questionnaire be prepared in a way that is easily understandable by the common people. He also accused the ruling Awami League of attempting to create instability in the country through large-scale financial activities, alleging that money from India is being used to undermine national order.
