Dhaka, Nov 29 (V7N) — BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia may need to be taken abroad for advanced treatment, but her physical condition must stabilize first, said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. At present, she is not medically fit to travel.

Speaking at a press conference at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Saturday (November 29) evening, Mirza Fakhrul said that visa processing and air ambulance preparations have already been initiated to ensure quick action if doctors recommend foreign treatment.

He stated that Khaleda Zia’s health remains somewhat critical, and both local and foreign specialists have been involved in her treatment. The Medical Board held an extended meeting on Friday night to discuss her medical situation in detail.

Mirza Fakhrul said that once her condition shows signs of stability, the option of sending her abroad will be seriously considered. “Preparatory work has been advanced so that immediate steps can be taken if necessary,” he added.

He also expressed concern over the large crowds gathering outside the hospital, saying it is creating difficulties for medical professionals and other patients. The BNP Secretary General urged party leaders and activists not to gather at the hospital during this sensitive time.
