Dhaka, Dec 01 (V7N) — BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that democracy in Bangladesh “remains in the fog” and that the country’s independence and sovereignty continue to face threats. In such a situation, he stated, the nation draws long-term strength by keeping Khaleda Zia as an inspiration.
Rizvi made the remarks on Monday afternoon at a prayer meeting in Nayapaltan, organized to seek blessings for the recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
He said Khaleda Zia is not only the leader of the BNP but also “the guardian of the entire nation,” which is why people are gathering at Evercare Hospital to pray for her health. “Bangladesh needs Khaleda Zia more,” he added, noting that the scale of public prayers for her recovery is unprecedented.
Rizvi further said that neither domestic nor foreign conspiracies could weaken Khaleda Zia, as she remains uncompromising in her commitment to democracy and the national interest.
