Dhaka, Dec 02 (V7N) — BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s physical condition remains unchanged, but she is stable enough to continue receiving treatment, said her personal physician Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain. He called on the public not to pay attention to rumors and urged everyone to remain patient during this critical period.

Speaking at a formal briefing in front of Evercare Hospital in the capital on Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Zahid said, “I hope Madam Khaleda Zia will return to good health with the prayers of all. BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is supervising her treatment round the clock. Chief Advisor Dr. Yunus, the interim government, and the hospital authorities are providing all possible support.”

He also sought prayers from the nation and confirmed that a team of specialist doctors from the UK is scheduled to arrive today. The possibility of transferring Khaleda Zia to London for advanced treatment will be considered after consultation with the integrated medical team, he added.

Khaleda Zia was taken to Evercare Hospital from her Gulshan residence Firoza on the night of November 23 for a medical check-up and was later admitted on the advice of the medical board. She has long been suffering from multiple complications, including arthritis, diabetes, kidney issues, lung problems, and eye-related illnesses.
