Dhaka, Dec 02 (V7N) — A new team of Chinese medical specialists is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday night to join the treatment efforts for BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, whose physical condition remains critical. A team of medical experts from the United Kingdom is also expected to arrive on Wednesday (December 3), BNP sources confirmed on Tuesday evening.

This comes a day after another group of foreign doctors reached Dhaka on Monday and later visited Evercare Hospital to assess the BNP chief’s condition.

According to party officials, Khaleda Zia’s health remains unchanged but she is still able to receive treatment under close supervision.

Khaleda Zia was taken to Evercare Hospital from her Gulshan residence, Firoza, on the night of November 23 for medical evaluation. She was admitted shortly afterward on the recommendation of the medical board, following which her health began to deteriorate.

The former prime minister has long been suffering from multiple ailments, including arthritis, diabetes, and complications involving her kidneys, lungs, and eyes.
