Kurigram, Dec 05 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that unless a major crisis arises, the government is expected to hold the upcoming parliamentary elections before Ramadan in February, and BNP has completed all preparations to participate.
Rizvi made the remarks after Friday Jumma prayers in response to journalists’ questions.
Regarding the return of BNP Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman, Rizvi stated: “Tarique Rahman, the leader of the people of this country, will come to the country at an appropriate time considering his mother’s serious illness and other circumstances.”
Earlier, prayers for the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia were held at the Sardar Para Jame Mosque in Kurigram town. As part of the program, three goats were distributed as charity in a madrasa.
District BNP leaders including Hasibur Rahman Hasib, Shafiqul Islam Bebu, and Chhatra Dal General Secretary Hasan Jobayer Himel were present at the program.
