Dhaka, Dec 10 (V7N)- The National Citizens Party (NCP) has announced its first phase of candidates for 125 constituencies ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections. The announcement was made at a press conference held at the party’s Bangla Motor office in the capital on Wednesday (December 10).

NCP member secretary Akhtar Hossain revealed the candidate list, which includes several notable names. Among them, Nahid Islam will contest from Dhaka-11, Nasiruddin Patwari from Dhaka-18, Tasnim Zara from Dhaka-9, and Akhtar Hossain himself from Rangpur-4.

Additionally, the party nominated Sargis Alam for Panchagarh-1, Hasnat Abdullah for Comilla-4, Abdul Hannan Masud for Noakhali-6, and Sarwar Tushar for Narsingdi-2.

Speaking at the event, Nasiruddin Patwari, chief of the NCP Election Management Committee, urged all nominated candidates to actively campaign for a "Yes" vote in the upcoming referendum.

Patwari emphasized that the party would not tolerate unethical individuals within its electoral lineup. “If anyone involved in corruption, extortion, or terrorism is found among the nominated candidates, their nominations will be cancelled immediately,” he said.

He further added that BNP-Jamaat rebel leaders supporting political reforms may also be endorsed by the NCP in the next phase. “Their names will be included in the second list,” he added.

The second-phase candidate list is expected to be announced soon.
