Dhaka, Dec 12 (V7N) — Inquilab Manch spokesperson and Dhaka-8 constituency candidate Sharif Osman Hadi has been shot by unidentified assailants in the capital. He was rescued in critical condition and rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

The attack occurred around 2:15 pm on Friday in front of the Bijoynagar water tank.

According to a colleague who was accompanying him, Hadi was traveling toward Suhrawardy Udyan in a rickshaw after exchanging greetings with locals following Jumma prayers. At that moment, an unknown gunman riding a motorcycle opened fire, hitting Hadi below his left ear, near the jaw.

Party activists immediately rescued him and transported him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Doctors said he required four bags of blood, which supporters have already arranged.

An eyewitness reported that miscreants on two motorcycles approached the rickshaw and fired at Hadi, causing him to collapse and bleed profusely. He was taken to the hospital in the same rickshaw moments later.

Following the incident, a large crowd has gathered outside DMCH. Leaders and activists from various political parties have condemned the attack and are expressing outrage on social media.
