Dhaka, Dec 13 (V7N)- Inqilab Manch spokesperson Osman Hadi, who was shot in the head by miscreants, remains in critical condition and is currently under close medical observation at Evercare Hospital in the capital.

Osman Hadi, also a potential independent parliamentary candidate from Dhaka-8 constituency, was seriously injured in a shooting incident on Friday while traveling in an autorickshaw in the Bijoynagar area of Dhaka.

Providing an update on his condition, Dr. Zahid Raihan, Head of the Neurosurgery Department at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Hadi’s condition remains extremely critical.

“Hadi’s condition is very bad. Critical is what it means. Even after being brought to the hospital, he had signs of life. During the operation, our anesthesia experts observed respiratory effort, which means he still had the ability to breathe on his own,” Dr. Zahid Raihan said.

He added that during surgery, Osman Hadi suffered two cardiac arrests and experienced severe bleeding, including bleeding from the nose and mouth.

“We will not give any assurance regarding the patient’s recovery. He is alive for now—everything else depends on the will of Allah,” the doctor said.

According to physicians, the bullet entered Hadi’s head from one side and exited through the other, passing through a critical central area of the brain. Although the bullet exited, small fragments remained inside the brain, some of which were removed during surgery.

“The injury is at a very central point of the brain. Such areas are usually not approached surgically. However, during the operation, we recovered some very small bullet fragments,” Dr. Zahid explained.

Following emergency surgery at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Osman Hadi was placed on life support. Later, at the request of his family, he was transferred to Evercare Hospital for advanced ICU support.

Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies are investigating the shooting incident, though no arrests had been reported as of filing this report.
