Dhaka, Dec 13 (V7N)- No case has yet been filed by the family or any other party in connection with the shooting incident involving Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Manch and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, police sources confirmed.

However, law enforcement agencies have placed several individuals under surveillance as part of the ongoing investigation, according to reliable sources.

Sources said that CCTV footage collected from the surrounding areas does not clearly capture the attackers’ faces, making identification challenging. As a result, detailed analysis of the footage is still underway. Alongside this, information related to those currently under surveillance is being thoroughly reviewed.

Earlier on Friday, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) stated that police rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information about the attack. The DMP said that sincere efforts are continuing to identify and arrest those responsible by collecting and analyzing CCTV footage from nearby locations.

In addition to local police from the concerned police station, teams from the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) are conducting search operations at various locations to track down the assailants.

Police officials said the investigation is ongoing and further developments will be shared as information becomes available.
