Dhaka, Dec 23 (V7N)- After 17 years in exile in London, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to return to Bangladesh on December 25, with the party making extensive preparations for his reception. Leaders and activists are coordinating to make the event a historic moment for the party and its supporters.

Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on Tuesday while inspecting the reception stage, “The airport will witness a grand gathering of people from across the country. More than half a crore people are expected to be present in Dhaka on that day.”

Rizvi described Tarique Rahman as a symbol of nationalist strength and emphasized that his security must be ensured first by the government, and then by the party. “The party is taking necessary measures and preparations, and we hope the government is also playing its part,” he added.

Rizvi further expressed confidence that Tarique Rahman’s return will be peaceful and orderly, saying, “He will be showered with the wishes of countless people. He will greet the crowd, returning to his homeland after many years.”

Upon arrival, Tarique Rahman is expected to express his gratitude at Evercare Hospital, located about 300 feet from the airport, before proceeding to his Gulshan Avenue residence. The Chairperson Security Force (CSF) has been deployed to ensure round-the-clock security throughout his journey.
