Dhaka, Dec 26 (V7N)- Following the reception ceremony for BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP has begun clearing garbage and debris scattered across the July 36 Expressway in the capital.
The cleanup operation started on Friday morning (December 26). Earlier in the day, a visit to the area showed extensive waste strewn across the venue, including food packets, polythene bags, plastic bottles, bamboo poles, placards, wooden structures, banners, and other discarded materials.
Several trees were found uprooted or bent, particularly near the road divider and in front of the main stage. Trees located directly in front of the stage were also seen cut down, while damage to greenery along the expressway was visible.
Earlier on Thursday night, around 9:00 pm, the BNP media cell announced that Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP would undertake a cleanup of the July 36 Expressway, Airport Road, and adjacent areas following large public gatherings marking Tarique Rahman’s return to the country.
The cleanup effort aims to restore normal traffic movement and improve the overall condition of the area after the mass gathering.
