Rajshahi, Jan 29 (V7N) — BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has reached the stage of the party’s election rally at the historic Madrasa Ground in Rajshahi.

Earlier in the day, he arrived in the divisional city by plane at around 12:30 pm, accompanied by his wife Jobaida Rahman. After landing, Tarique Rahman paid homage at the shrine of Hazrat Shah Makhdum (RA) in the city’s Dargapara area before proceeding to the rally venue.

BNP leaders and activists began gathering at the Madrasa Ground from early morning, expressing enthusiasm to see the party chairman and listen to his speech.

According to party sources, Tarique Rahman will introduce 13 BNP candidates for the upcoming parliamentary elections from Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, and Natore districts at the rally.

Following the Rajshahi programme, the BNP chairman is scheduled to address another election rally at the ATM Ground in Naogaon. He will then travel by road to Bogra, where he will attend a night rally at the Altafunnesa Playground, concluding his first day of regional campaign activities.

On Friday, Tarique Rahman will stay in Bogra and later visit Abu Sayeed’s grave before attending an election rally in Rangpur. He is expected to return to Dhaka on Saturday after participating in rallies in Sirajganj and Tangail.
