Dhaka, Feb 13 (V7N) — Even though the 13th National Parliament election results have been largely declared, the Election Commission (EC) has decided to postpone the announcement of results for three constituencies until related court cases are resolved.

The affected constituencies are Sherpur-2, Chittagong-2, and Chittagong-4. The EC issued separate letters on Thursday (February 12), signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md. Shahidul Islam of the EC Secretariat.

  • Chittagong-4: Candidate Mohammad Aslam Chowdhury (Constituency 281) is allowed to participate in the election, but the results are postponed due to legal obligations linked to CPLA No. 441/2026.

  • Chittagong-2: Candidate Sarwar Alamgir (Constituency 279) is also permitted to participate, but the announcement of his results is suspended until the resolution of CPLA No. 440/2026.

  • Sherpur-2: Candidate Mohammad Fahim Chowdhury (Constituency 144) will participate as usual, but the final result will depend on the outcome of CPLA No. 442/2026.

The EC emphasized that these postponements are legally required and will remain in effect until the respective cases in the Appellate Division are finally settled.
