Dhaka, Feb 15 (V7N) — Sarjis Alam, northern chief organizer of the Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP), has said that Tarique Rahman has initiated a culture of mutual respect and positive politics in the country.

Sarjis Alam made the remarks in a post on his verified Facebook page on Sunday, describing the planned visits of the BNP chairman as a step toward constructive political engagement.
In the post, he wrote that as part of efforts to promote positive politics, Tarique Rahman would visit the residences of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and NCP convener Nahid Islam on Sunday evening.
Call for New Political Culture
He further said that Bangladesh’s transition toward democracy requires moving away from what he described as a culture of political revenge and instead fostering mutual respect and harmony among parties and leaders. Sarjis thanked Tarique Rahman for taking such an initiative.
Visit Schedule
Earlier, BNP sources announced that the party chairman would visit the Jamaat Ameer’s residence at 7:00 pm and Nahid Islam’s residence at 8:00 pm on Sunday.
Political Context
The remarks come as the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) prepares to form the government after securing a majority in the 13th National Parliament election. Tarique Rahman is expected to take oath as Prime Minister.
