Jhenaidah, May 22 (V7N)- Nasiruddin Patwari, the main organizer of the National Citizens Party (NCP), was allegedly attacked in Jhenaidah on Friday afternoon following Jumu’ah prayers, with eggs reportedly thrown at him and later physical assault claimed by party leaders.

The incident took place outside the District Collector (DC Court) Jame Mosque, according to eyewitnesses. Witnesses said a group chanted slogans as Patwari exited the mosque, after which tensions escalated and eggs were thrown at him.

NCP leaders have accused activists of Chhatra Dal and Jubo Dal of carrying out the attack. In a Facebook post, Nasiruddin Patwari claimed that the attackers used eggs, bricks, stones, and later hockey sticks, leaving several people injured. He also alleged that his mobile phone, camera, and wallet were snatched during the incident.

He further stated that three individuals suffered head injuries and several others were hurt. Patwari also claimed that he was physically assaulted and that the attack occurred in the presence of police.

NCP leaders said they are currently taking shelter at a police station and are preparing to file a case over the incident.

Sarjis Alam, the party’s northern chief organizer, also condemned the attack in a social media post, alleging that several party members were injured and hospitalized.
