Gazipur, Jul 05 (V7N) — National Citizens Party (NCP) Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam will visit Kaliganj in Gazipur on Monday (July 6) to participate in the party's July Padyatra, part of its month-long programme marking the second anniversary of the July Uprising.
A grand gathering of July movement activists and supporters is scheduled to be held at Kaliganj Bus Stand at 4:00 pm, where Nahid Islam, described by the party as the announcer of the one-point demand during the July Uprising, will attend as the chief guest.
Other senior NCP leaders expected to attend include Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain MP, Chief Organizer (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam, Chief Organizer (Southern Region) Hasnat Abdullah MP, Central Joint Chief Organizer Advocate Ali Naser Khan, Gazipur District NCP Convener and Kaliganj Upazila Parishad chairman candidate M.M. Shoaib, Gazipur Metropolitan NCP Member Secretary Abdullah Al Muhim, Gazipur District NCP Member Secretary Khandaker Al Amin, and District Chhatra Shakti Convener Bashir Ahmed Apu.
Leaders and activists from the party's central, metropolitan, district and affiliated organizations are also expected to participate in the programme.
Meanwhile, NCP leaders and activists have been engaged in extensive preparations across Kaliganj ahead of the arrival of the party's top leadership and the scheduled rally.
