Dhaka, Sep 02 (V7N)- BNP Standing Committee member and Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Mirza Abbas is returning home on Wednesday after more than five months of medical treatment in Singapore and Malaysia.
The flight carrying him is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 9pm.
Mirza Abbas fell ill suddenly during an iftar gathering on March 11. He was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka that night, where he later underwent brain surgery.
On March 15, he was flown to Singapore by air ambulance for advanced medical treatment. On April 14, following medical advice, he was transferred from Singapore General Hospital to Prince Court Medical Centre in Malaysia for further treatment.
After completing his treatment abroad, the BNP leader is now returning to Bangladesh.
Mirza Abbas was elected as a member of parliament from the Dhaka-8 constituency in the 13th National Parliament election.
