DHAKA, Sept 13, V7N — Aspirants seeking the BNP nomination for the upcoming by-election to the vacant Thakurgaon-1 constituency have been asked to collect nomination forms from the party's central office at Nayapaltan on September 15.
According to a BNP press release, nomination forms will be available from 10am to 5pm. Completed forms must be submitted at the same office between 10am and 5pm on September 16.
Interviews of the nomination aspirants will be held at 7pm on September 18 at the BNP chairman's Gulshan office. Under the election schedule announced by the Election Commission, nomination papers must be submitted to the returning officer by September 27. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on September 29.
The last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 7, while electoral symbols will be allocated on October 8. The by-election to Thakurgaon-1, which fell vacant after President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir resigned from the seat, will be held on October 29.
