Dhaka, Oct 01 (V7N)- The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its affiliated organizations have dissolved three key committees in Dhaka and expelled several leaders over alleged breaches of party discipline, unethical conduct and activities considered detrimental to the organization .

The committees affected are the Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convening committee, the Dhaka Metropolitan North Jubo Dal committee, and the Dhaka Metropolitan West Chhatra Dal committee.

The decisions were announced through separate notifications issued on Wednesday (September 30). While BNP cited allegations of irregularities, disciplinary violations and unethical activities in connection with some of the actions, Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal said their respective committees were dissolved following the expiration of their terms.

A notification signed by BNP Assistant Office Secretary Muhammad Munir Hossain announced the dissolution of the existing Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP convening committee, headed by Convener Aminul Islam and Member Secretary Md. Mostafa Zaman. The notification said a new committee would be announced later.

In a separate decision, Khalil Chowdhury, Joint Convener of Shah Ali Thana BNP; Anwar Hossain, General Secretary of the C-Block Unit BNP; and Hafizur Rahman Shukku, a member of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP, were permanently expelled from the party. Their primary memberships were also revoked.

Meanwhile, the Dhaka Metropolitan North Jubo Dal committee was dissolved following the expiration of its tenure.

A notification signed by Jubo Dal Joint General Secretary in charge of the organization's office, Minhajul Islam Bhuiyan, confirmed the decision. Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna and General Secretary Mohammad Nurul Islam N ayan approved the dissolution.

The Dhaka Metropolitan West Chhatra Dal committee was also dissolved, with the organization saying a new committee would be announced in due course.

In addition, Chhatra Dal expelled five leaders over alleged violations of party discipline. They are Sarwar Alam Pias, Vice President of Dhaka Metropolitan West Chhatra Dal; Md. Rafiqul Islam Jinnah, Senior Joint General Secretary; Iqbal Hossain Dipu, Convener of Darussalam Thana Chhatra Dal; Omar Naim, Member Secretary; and Shanto Rahman, Member Secretary of Ward No. 93 Chhatra Dal.

The Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal also took disciplinary action against four leaders, removing them from all organizational posts.

Those expelled are Monir Hossain, Joint Convener of Shah-Ali Thana Sramik Dal; Jahangir Hossain, President of Shah-Ali Thana Auto-rickshaw Sramik Dal; Huzaifa, a member of the organization; and Golam Rasul Parvez, Convener of Darus-Salam Thana Sramik Dal.

Sramik Dal President Anwar Hossain and General Secretary Nurul Islam Khan Nasim approved the expulsion orders.

The latest decisions mark a series of organizational and disciplinary changes within the BNP and its affiliated bodies in Dhaka, with new committees expected to be formed for some of the dissolved units.
