Dhaka, Oct 12 (V7N)- BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that defeated political forces are attempting to carry out acts of sabotage across the country, including during Durga Puja, to damage the government's image.
He urged BNP leaders and activists to remain vigilant against possible attempts to create unrest and called on them to exercise tolerance and help maintain a peaceful environment.
Rizvi made the remarks at a discussion meeting marking the death anniversary of BNP Standing Committee member Hannan Shah at the National Press Club on Monday afternoon.
He said those seeking to undermine Bangladesh's independence and sovereignty were known to the public and alleged that such forces had remained active in the past and continued to be active.
The BNP leader also said the government was working to provide relief to people despite the country's ongoing challenges.
He expressed confidence that the existing crises could be overcome if the government continued to run the country with sincerity.
