Dhaka, Oct 31 (V7N)- BNP Acting Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has questioned the rationale behind Jamaat-e-Islami’s long march, accusing the opposition of organising the programme to fill what he described as a political vacuum and mislead the public.

He made the remarks after attending a programme at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) auditorium in the capital on Saturday morning, October 31.

Rizvi said people did not understand the purpose of Jamaat-e-Islami’s long march. He also rejected criticism of the BNP over the ongoing energy crisis, saying it had resulted from the international war situation rather than any action by his party.

The BNP leader further alleged that when opposition programmes failed to gain public support, the opposition resorted to what he described as a planned campaign targeting popular ministers through propaganda.

He claimed that the opposition was attempting to mislead people by taking advantage of the government's positive political activities.
