Dhaka, August 4 — In response to the ongoing quota movement, the Awami League is conducting anti-sabotage programs across all wards of Dhaka, as well as in districts and cities throughout the country. The party is also set to hold a mourning procession from the Engineers Institution to Bangabandhu Bhavan on Monday.

On Sunday morning, party leaders and activists began executing these programs in various locations, including the capital, Dhaka. This comes as part of a two-day initiative announced by Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.

Quader made the announcement at a press conference held at the political office of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina in Dhanmondi on Saturday. He emphasized that the party wishes to avoid any confrontational situations, especially given the current adverse weather conditions.

As part of the scheduled events, the party will organize gatherings in the capital's wards and various districts and cities on Sunday. On Monday, at 3 p.m., a mourning procession will take place in memory of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who was assassinated on August 15, 1975, as well as those who lost their lives in recent violence. The procession will begin in front of the Engineers Institution and conclude at Bangabandhu Bhavan.

The Awami League's actions come amid heightened tensions and unrest associated with the quota reform movement, which has seen widespread protests and violence across the country. The party's leadership has urged for calm and restraint, emphasizing a non-confrontational approach in their responses.
