Washington, Oct 25, (V7N) - As the 2024 presidential race heats up, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are making their pitches to voters in three critical states. On Thursday, Trump held a rally in Tempe, Arizona, followed by an event with Turning Point Action in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Harris campaigned in Atlanta, joined by former President Barack Obama and music icon Bruce Springsteen.
At the Atlanta rally, Springsteen delivered a passionate message, stating that Trump is “running to be an American tyrant.” He performed a set of hits, including “The Promised Land” and “Dancing in the Dark,” before highlighting Harris’s dedication to democracy and women’s rights. “Kamala Harris is running to be the 47th president of the United States,” he emphasized.
In response to criticism from former White House chief of staff John Kelly, who labeled Trump as fascist, the former president defended himself in a Fox News interview, calling Kelly a "bully" and disputing the claims.
Harris's campaign received a boost from Obama, who sought to challenge Trump’s narrative about pandemic relief. “Joe Biden sent you a check during the pandemic, just like I gave people relief during the Great Recession,” he noted, emphasizing that aid should not be about personal recognition.
At a town hall, Republican vice-presidential candidate JD Vance addressed controversial remarks he made about Haitian immigrants, acknowledging he could have approached the situation differently while asserting he was listening to constituents’ concerns.
As the election approaches, Harris painted a vivid picture of the future, urging voters to envision the Oval Office post-Inauguration Day. “It’s either Donald Trump, stewing over his enemies list, or me, working for you,” she stated, reinforcing her commitment to democracy and the electorate.
In Georgia, Harris rallied support, asking, “Are you ready to make your voices heard?” Her message resonated, concluding with a powerful statement: “And when we fight, we win!”
