Dhaka, Dec 23 (V7N) — The much-anticipated Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024 is set to commence on December 30. This year, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has taken significant steps to enhance the tournament's appeal, incorporating unique elements such as graffiti and slogans inspired by the July-August mass uprising. The mascot and theme song have also been unveiled, adding excitement to the event.

The opening ceremony promises to be a grand spectacle, featuring a three-day music festival across Dhaka, Sylhet, and Chittagong. Renowned Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will headline the event, performing at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur tomorrow. Reports indicate that Rahat is being paid a staggering 3.4 crore Bangladeshi taka for his participation. Bangladeshi musician Asif Akbar will also share the stage with him.

The music festival will continue in Sylhet on December 25 and Chittagong on December 27, showcasing performances by some of the country's best musicians.

To ensure accessibility, the BCB has reduced ticket prices after an initial lack of audience response. The revised prices are as follows:

Platinum: 8,000 BDT (previously 12,000 BDT)

Gold: 6,000 BDT (previously 8,000 BDT)

Silver: 4,000 BDT (previously 6,000 BDT)

Grand Stand: 1,500 BDT (previously 4,000 BDT)

Club House (Upper): 500 BDT (previously 2,500 BDT)

Tickets are available online, allowing fans to secure their spots for this musical and sporting extravaganza. With these exciting initiatives, the BCB aims to set a new benchmark for cricket tournaments in Bangladesh.
