Following the reception, Hamza was taken from the airport in an open-top jeep to his native village in Snanghat, Bahubal Upazila, Habiganj.
Currently, Hamza Chowdhury is the most talked-about name in Bangladesh’s sporting arena. Football fans have eagerly anticipated his arrival ever since it was confirmed that the defensive midfielder, who plays in the English Championship for Sheffield United on loan from Leicester City, would wear the red and green jersey. Bangladesh will take on India in Shillong on March 25, marking Hamza’s highly anticipated debut for the national team.
Hamza follows in the footsteps of other foreign-born footballers who have played for Bangladesh, a journey that began with Jamal Bhuiyan. His inclusion in the squad is expected to boost the team’s midfield and bring valuable international experience to Bangladesh football.
