Dhaka, Oct 06 (V7N) – Voting for the much-anticipated Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) elections has officially begun. The polling started at 10 a.m. on Sunday at a hotel in the capital and will continue until 4 p.m.
A total of 191 councilors are casting their votes to elect 23 directors, while 8 candidates have already been elected unopposed.
Tension and excitement have risen in the club category, especially after a recent court ruling reinstated the voting rights of 15 clubs. Late last night, another club representative, Faihur Rahman Bhuiyan, withdrew his candidacy.
The final results of the director elections are expected to be announced in the evening, following which the next BCB president will be chosen by the 25 elected directors.
This year’s election has drawn significant attention, with several new faces contesting alongside veteran candidates, signaling potential changes in the country’s top cricket administration.
