Atlanta, June 21 (V7N) – Spain secured a commanding 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in their second Group Stage match of the FIFA World Cup at Atlanta Stadium on Sunday, with Mikel Oyarzabal scoring twice and young sensation Lamine Yamal making history.

Spain took the lead early in the match when Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal found the net with a brilliant finish. The goal made Yamal the seventh-youngest player ever to score in FIFA World Cup history.

Mikel Oyarzabal doubled Spain’s advantage in the 21st minute after capitalizing on a defensive error inside the Saudi penalty area. The Real Sociedad forward struck again just three minutes later, converting a well-worked attacking move involving Marc Cucurea and Dani Olmo to give Spain a comfortable 3-0 lead before halftime.

Saudi Arabia’s problems worsened shortly after the restart. In the 49th minute, defender Hassan Al Tambakti accidentally turned Marc Cucurea’s volley into his own net after the goalkeeper initially made a save.

Spain continued to dominate possession and create chances throughout the second half. Ferran Torres thought he had added a fifth goal in stoppage time, but the effort was ruled out following a VAR review.

The emphatic victory strengthened Spain’s position in the group as the 2010 World Cup champions continued their impressive campaign.

Spain will face Uruguay in their final Group Stage match on Saturday, June 27. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 a.m. Bangladesh time.
