Dhaka, Jun 26 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Zimbabwe, retaining almost the same side that recently secured a 2-1 series victory over Australia at home.
The only change to the squad is the omission of all-rounder Sheikh Mahedi Hasan, who was added to the team ahead of the third ODI against Australia.
Although wicketkeeper-batter Liton Das has been ruled out of the one-off Test against Zimbabwe due to injury, he has been included in the ODI squad, indicating that the team management expects him to recover in time for the limited-overs series.
Bangladesh last toured Zimbabwe for an ODI series in 2022, where the Tigers suffered a 2-1 series defeat.
The lone Test between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe is scheduled to begin on June 28. The three-match ODI series will then get underway on July 6, with the remaining matches to be played on July 9 and July 11. The tour will conclude with a three-match T20 International series starting on July 15.
The Bangladesh ODI squad for the Zimbabwe tour includes Mehedi Hasan Miraz (captain), Nazmul Hossain Shanto (vice-captain), Soumya Sarkar, Saif Hasan, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Towhid Hridoy, Liton Das, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Rishad Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Mostafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shariful Islam and Nahid Rana.
The Tigers will look to build on their recent ODI success and return from Zimbabwe with a series victory after their disappointing result on the previous tour.
