Netrokona, July (V7NN)- Md. Mofazzal Hossain Bhuiyan, newly elected Chairman of the Upazila Parishad, inaugurated the Bongobondhu and Bongomata Football Gold Cup Tournament 2024 in Kendua Upazila, Netrokona.
 
On Wednesday morning, July 3, the inauguration ceremony was held at the Sandikona School and College ground, organized by the Upazila administration. The event was presided over by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Imdadul Haque Talukder, and conducted by the Vice President of the Upazila Sports Association, Md. Ashraf Uddin.
 
In his inaugural speech, the newly elected Chairman of the Upazila Parishad, Md. Mofazzal Hossain Bhuiyan, emphasized that the games would be conducted following all the rules and regulations. He urged everyone to ensure that no form of disorder occurs during the games.
 
In his speech, the Tournament President and Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Imdadul Haque Talukder, stated that the Bongobondhu Football Gold Cup Tournament Under-17 is a government-sponsored event. He stressed the importance of conducting the games smoothly and peacefully, especially ensuring that age criteria are strictly adhered to.
 
Also present at the event were Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ms. Jannat, Vice Chairman of the Upazila Parishad, Selina Begum Sumi, Kendua Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Enamul Haque (PPM-Service), General Secretary of the Upazila Sports Association Nasir Uddin Bhuiyan, Treasurer Md. Jahangir Alam, Union Parishad Chairmen, various spectators, and dignitaries.
 
It is noteworthy that three matches were held on the first day, and the opening match was officiated by Upazila Sports Association's esteemed member and skilled football player, AKM Faruk Ahmed (Tapas).
