Turkey, August 12– Instagram is back online in Turkey after a 9-day shutdown. The Turkish government lifted the ban on Sunday, according to a report from Reuters.

The social media platform was blocked on August 2, following accusations that it failed to comply with Turkey's "laws and regulations." The shutdown came after a senior Turkish official complained that Instagram had blocked posts expressing condolences following the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, leader of the Palestinian group Hamas.

Instagram was restored after its parent company, Meta, agreed to adhere to all Turkish government regulations, resolving the issue that had led to the ban.
