Dhaka, Oct 29 (V7N)- Once the rare disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) was diagnosed, parents would have despaired. Many would have been frustrated by the lack of guidance as this rare disease requires a combination of seven to eight medical disciplines. There was no opportunity to treat this disease in the country. But due to the sincerity of various parties, it is now possible to provide multidisciplinary medical services in the country. In the very near future, a complete treatment system for this rare disease SMA will be developed in the country.

Renowned neurologist Professor Dr. Quazi Deen Mohammad stated that at the opening ceremony of the 'Neuromuscular Disease Treatment Center' or SMA Clinic held at Agargaon National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital on Monday.

He also said that several drugs have been approved in the world so far. An oral drug (Risdiplam) has already been approved in Bangladesh. Various parties including the government are working on drug prices and accessories. We hope that the price of medicines will come within the reach of everyone in the future.

He said addressing the parents, you will not be disappointed. It is possible to lead a normal life even with SMC. He requested the riches to come forward. Thanks to Cure SMA Bangladesh. They have come forward. Due to which awareness about this disease is being created in the remote areas of the country.

In this day-long event, Mr. Mark Heeb, country manager of Roche Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Md. Badrul Alam, Joint Director, National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital Pediatric Neurologist Professor Dr. Narayan Saha, Cure SMA Bangladesh President Shahadat Hossain, Professor Md. Therefore, the sincerity of the government in this matter is very necessary.
