DHAKA, June 24, (V7N) — Two more people died of dengue and 157 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the newly hospitalized patients, 56 were admitted in Barishal Division, 16 in Chattogram Division, 11 in Dhaka Division outside city corporation areas, 28 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 29 in Dhaka South City Corporation, three in Mymensingh Division, four in Rajshahi Division, and 16 in Khulna Division.
During the same period, 119 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. With the latest figure, a total of 4,919 patients have recovered and been released so far this year.
A total of 5,317 dengue cases have been recorded nationwide since January. Of the total infected, 62.1 percent are male and 37.9 percent female.
The dengue death toll for 2026 has reached 12 so far.
According to official data, Bangladesh recorded 102,861 dengue cases and 413 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease in 2025.
In 2024, the country reported 101,214 dengue infections and 575 deaths.
