Dhaka, Sep 10 (V7N) – Five more people have died from dengue in the last 24 hours, bringing this year's death toll from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 102, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During this period, 534 new patients were admitted to hospitals with dengue fever. Of these, 78 patients were admitted under Dhaka North City Corporation, while 121 were hospitalized in Dhaka South City Corporation.

Currently, 1,664 people are undergoing treatment in various hospitals across the country. Since January 1, 2024, a total of 16,819 dengue cases have been reported.

In 2023, Bangladesh recorded its deadliest year for dengue, with 1,705 fatalities. That year, the DGHS documented 321,179 cases and 318,749 recoveries.
