Tehran, Oct 05 (V7N) — Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stern warning to Israel, stating that all of its energy facilities, including power plants, oil refineries, and gas fields, would be destroyed if any further aggression is attempted. This threat was made by IRGC Deputy Commander Major General Ali Fadavi during an interview with Lebanon’s Al-Mayadeen TV on Friday.

General Fadavi emphasized the vulnerability of Israel’s energy infrastructure in contrast to Iran's more extensive economic centres. "If the occupying government makes any mistake, we will simultaneously attack all its sources of energy," he said. Israel, which has three major power plants and a few refineries, would be at great risk if it provoked Iran, he added.

The warning comes in the wake of escalating tensions in the Middle East, following Israel's airstrikes on Lebanon, which have reportedly targeted civilians for over two weeks. In response, Iran launched a significant missile attack on Israeli military installations earlier in the week, after which Tel Aviv threatened to attack Iran's oil fields. Fadavi's statement was seen as a direct counter to this threat.

Iran’s military commanders have also reinforced this message. Major General Abdurrahim Mousavi of Iran's army warned that any Israeli aggression would be met with a "terrible and devastating response." He further stated that Tehran had shown patience but was now prepared to retaliate powerfully.

The conflict dates back to the massive military operation launched by the Hamas government in Gaza on October 7 last year. Israel responded with airstrikes and ground attacks, leading to the deaths of over 42,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, and injuring more than 100,000 people.
