Riyadh, Jan 12 (V7N) — Syrian Foreign Minister Asad al-Shaibani has arrived in Riyadh to participate in a high-level ministerial meeting addressing the ongoing situation in Syria. The Turkish news agency Anadolu Agency reported his arrival on Sunday, with Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Walid al-Khraizi extending an official welcome.

The meeting, hosted in the Saudi capital, is expected to bring together top diplomats from several key nations, including Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Britain, Germany, Italy, and the United States. Members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are also participating.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is among the prominent figures attending the discussions. The meeting aims to explore necessary steps to stabilise and secure Syria, a country that has faced prolonged conflict and humanitarian challenges.

This gathering underscores the international community's commitment to addressing the crisis in Syria and working towards sustainable solutions for peace and security in the region.
