In reaction to Musk's scandal, conservative scholar Christopher Rufo stated, "The truth is not harassment unless someone wants to force others to lie."

Elon Musk has defended the reinstatement of regulations against misgendering after he bought the Twitter network in reaction to a satirical publication being banned for the same.

Musk made headlines when he famously bought Twitter following the company's suspension of the Christian satirical Babylon Bee for tweeting a headline designating transgender U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health Dr. Rachel Levine as 2022's "Man of the Year.

"However, Musk seems to have changed some of the rules against misgendering or using the previous names of transgender people after rebranding the site as X. With the headline, "X quietly revived anti-misgendering policy that Musk dropped last year,"

Ars Technica was reportedly the first to report that "X's updated policy confirms that X will ‘reduce the visibility of posts that purposefully use different pronouns to address someone other than what that person uses for themselves, or that use a previous name that someone no longer goes by as part of their transition.’"

"Some of TikTok's most well-known users have since called Musk out on his platform," writes Chaya Raichik, the activist behind LibsOfTikTok. It seems like X may have brought back its "misgendering" policy, therefore I've had to investigate. Richard Levine is a man. He is a male. The man is Dylan Mulvaney. He is a male. Ellen Page is a woman. She's a female. You may find me at @libsoftiktok if I'm suspended."

That tweet and the account are still up as of Saturday morning.

The platform's "Use of Prior Names and Pronouns" regulation was screenshotted by Raichik, and in response, Musk said, "This is just about repeated, targeted harassment of a particular person."

Is it "harassment" to use the appropriate sex-based pronouns for someone? Are we being made to tell lies? What about harassment in general? Raichik queried. "There are accounts that obsessively target and harass certain people on a regular basis. What is meant by "repeated" and "targeted," and why is this particular set of people given preferential treatment?"

The response from Raichik was, "Yeah, just shadowbanned and less tweet visibility."

Fox News Digital requested a statement from Twitter. Any response will be updated in this article.

The platform's "Use of Prior Names and Pronouns" regulation was screenshotted by Raichik, and in response, Musk said, "This is just about repeated, targeted harassment of a particular person."

Musk was criticized by other well-known users as well.

"'Wokeness is a mind virus destroying our civilization...here's how I'll enforce it,'" seemed to ridicule Musk in a post by conservative pundit Auron MacIntyre. "Won't you have to give this to @TheBabylonBee? That was the main idea, wasn't it?

"Man is man is man. Unless someone seeks to coerce others into lying, the truth is not harassment, according to conservative scholar Christopher Rufo.

The activist going by the name Billboard Chris stated, "You talk a lot about the mind virus which has infected the West." "Gender ideology, in which authoritarians want us to lie in order to support the idea that individuals are the other sex, best embodies that more than anything else. Is it now our fate to suffer for speaking the truth? It's ridiculous and violates the right to free expression."

But as you are aware, referring to a guy as "he," regardless of how frequently it occurs, is not harassment. "This merely penalizes individuals for voicing their truths," stated conservative analyst Allie Beth Stuckey.
