Washington, Mar 06 (V7N) – U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly issued a strong warning to Hamas and the residents of Gaza, demanding the immediate release of Israeli hostages. He stated that failure to comply would result in severe consequences, hinting at the total destruction of Hamas and widespread retaliation.

According to a report from U.S. media outlet Axios, Trump made these remarks in a social media post on Wednesday (March 5). He called on Hamas leaders to leave Gaza and urged Palestinian civilians to distance themselves from the group.

“This is your final warning! Hamas leaders must leave Gaza now. You still have a chance,” Trump reportedly wrote. Addressing the people of Gaza, he added, “A bright future awaits you. But if you keep the hostages, it will not be good. If you do that, you will all die! Make your decision wisely.”

The comments come as negotiations are ongoing for a second phase of the ceasefire in the war-torn region. The first phase, which briefly halted hostilities, expired on February 1, leading to an escalation of tensions and a renewed blockade on humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Trump’s remarks, if verified, could add a new dimension to the already complex U.S. stance on the conflict. While the Biden administration is actively involved in mediation efforts, Trump’s statements could signal a more aggressive approach should he return to power in the 2024 presidential elections.

As of now, neither Hamas nor Israeli officials have responded to Trump’s reported statement. The situation remains tense as ceasefire talks continue.
