Damascus, Mar 11 (V7N) – Israel has carried out airstrikes on multiple military installations in Syria, targeting the southern province of Daraa. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
The Qatar-based Al Jazeera news agency reported on Tuesday that the attack took place late Monday night. According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the strikes hit two cities north of Daraa, located 103 kilometers (64 miles) south of Damascus. The bombardment reportedly destroyed several arsenals, artillery units, and military equipment belonging to the Syrian army.
Sources suggest that Israel's primary targets were military bases linked to the forces of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Reports also indicate that Syrian rebel groups have been attempting to seize control of these bases for an extended period. However, neither Israel nor Syria has officially commented on the latest airstrikes.
