Beijing, Mar 14 (V7N) – A high-level trilateral meeting between China, Russia, and Iran on the Iranian nuclear issue was held in Beijing, with discussions focused on resuming negotiations and strengthening diplomatic communication.
The meeting, held on Friday, was chaired by Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Alexievich Ryabkov, and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, according to Xinhua news agency.
In a joint statement, the three nations called for the removal of all "illegal unilateral sanctions" and emphasized that political and diplomatic engagement, based on mutual respect, remains the only effective path forward.
Iran reaffirmed that its nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes and not for weapons development. Both China and Russia welcomed this stance, reiterating their support for diplomatic solutions to the ongoing nuclear discussions.
