Pyongyang, June 5 (V7N) – North Korea has announced its unconditional support for Russia, deepening its strategic alignment with Moscow amid ongoing global tensions. Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un made the declaration during a meeting with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu in Pyongyang on Thursday, according to a report by France 24, citing North Korean state media.
The Korean Central Television (KRT) broadcast footage of the high-level meeting, where Kim expressed full cooperation with Russia on matters related to the war in Ukraine and other international issues. He reportedly assured Shoigu of “all kinds of support” for Russia’s efforts.
During the discussion, both sides focused on enhancing strategic cooperation and reaffirming their commitment to strengthen bilateral relations. The meeting highlights the growing ties between Pyongyang and Moscow, which have become more prominent in the face of increasing isolation from the West.
While details of any specific agreements or support mechanisms were not disclosed, analysts say the message sends a strong signal of geopolitical alignment at a time when Russia faces mounting international pressure over its actions in Ukraine.
