Dhaka, June 24 (V7N) — US President Donald Trump has once again confirmed that the ceasefire between Israel and Iran is now in effect, urging both nations to honor the agreement.
In a post on Truth Social after 11 am (local time), Trump wrote, "The ceasefire is now in effect. Please, no one will violate it."
Earlier, President Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a "complete and comprehensive" ceasefire, according to CNN. However, the exact timing and conditions of the ceasefire remain unclear, with conflicting reports emerging from both Iranian and Israeli media outlets.
Trump previously stated that the ceasefire would come into force approximately six hours after his initial announcement, by midnight Eastern Time in the United States.
Following that announcement:
-
Iranian state media, Press TV, claimed, “The ceasefire has entered into effect after four rounds of Iranian attacks on Israeli-occupied territories.”
-
Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported briefly on Telegram that the ceasefire was in its “implementation phase.”
-
Israeli outlets Channel 12 and Ynet also reported that the ceasefire had started, though no clear details were provided.
-
Notably, Iranian state media described the ceasefire as something that had been “imposed on the enemy,” further adding to the lack of clarity regarding terms.
As of now, the Israeli government has not issued any official statement, leaving uncertainty and confusion over the full details and status of the ceasefire.
Global observers are closely monitoring the situation amid heightened regional tensions.
