Tel Aviv, July 4 (V7N) — In a startling revelation, Israeli media outlet Israel Hayom has claimed that Saudi Arabia covertly assisted Israel during its recent conflict with Iran, despite publicly condemning Israel’s attacks.
According to the Israel Hayom investigative report, Riyadh secretly deployed helicopters in Jordanian, Iraqi, and Saudi airspace to intercept and destroy drones launched by Tehran toward Israel. While Saudi officials have not acknowledged any such operation, sources cited in the report allege direct involvement of the Saudi Air Force in regional air defense efforts during the 12-day conflict.
The report underscores that while Iran fought alone, Israel benefited from the backing of multiple nations. Western allies, including the United States, United Kingdom, and France, openly supported Israel by intercepting missiles and drones fired by Iran. Jordan, too, is accused of helping thwart Iran’s strikes, although it has not confirmed any such role.
Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, had condemned Israel’s initial attack on Iranian territory, labeling it unprovoked and stressing that its airspace would not be used for hostilities. Yet, according to the Israel Hayom investigation, Riyadh’s actions contradicted its public statements.
Saudi Arabia boasts one of the most advanced air forces in the Middle East, with much of its arsenal supplied by the United States. The revelation comes as Saudi Arabia faces growing criticism for its muted stance on Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza, now into their 21st month.
